what you need to know about universal healthcare

Any logical person will tell you that facts speak for themselves, that we don’t need always need a debate, sometimes people just have the facts to support their argument. I just so happen to be one of those people- check this out. This comes from an unbiased source, the title is Universal Healthcare: Readings for Mental Health Professionals published by the Cummings Foundation for Behavioral Health: Health Utilization and Cost Series.

“Where universal healthcare has been instituted, which is every industrialized nation except the United States, it works well in the beginning but then costs accelerate exponentionally, unacceptably increasing the tax burden, so that controls and rationing must be instituted. The Province of Ontario in 2004 had to end its system of free healthcare for all by instituting premiums along with the other controls and rationing that have beenput in place over prior years….Additionally, the cost to the taxpayer has grown” GET THIS “40% since its enactment in 1975, while furthering the silent rationing of care that manifests itself in long waits.” That’s not it, “the system would be even more stressed were it not that so many Canadians, despairing waiting, cross into the United States to pay ou-of-pocket for immediate care”

Supporters of underage prostitution listen up…

That’s right all you ACORN supporters, be ashamed, be very ashamed. The most recently publicized Baltimore example of two ACORN employees helping a young aspiring prostitute and her pimp find a house to live in (where they will house 10-12 illegal 13 year olds that will be pimped out) and how to file taxes under the profession of “performng arts.” If you think this is just a freak occurance, you are dillusional. By the way, Obama supported ACORN, oh yeah….and they recieve federal funding!!!! It is likely that the two ACORN women will be let go and we will be told that they were bad employees, (just like employees that steal, etc.) and were let go. Look, ACORN is corrupt, every single ACORN office would act the same way, just like you would expect to get the same service at every best buy, ACORN is no different. Be sure that when ACORN is mentioned in the future that it carries a stigma.

Cash for Clunkers really works! Nah..I’m just kidding

Yeah, it really works. People are buying more cars, Wahooo! That is good, right? Sure, people are going back to work. That’s great! That is until the money runs out, then what happens? Then the people go back to being unemployed or back to their lesser-hour work weeks. That’s what you would think, right? Well you would be wrong my friend. These people are going to continue working, you know why? Because THEY ARE GOING TO GET 2 TRILLION BILLION MORE DOLLARS! I just don’t get it. How in the world does anyone think that throwing money at the problem is going to work? HOW? HOW? This might actually be one of the dumbest programs I’ve ever heard of…wait, nope- universal health care is worse, the stimulus package is worse- actually just about everything our current adminsitration puts out seemed to not be back by any logic or economic sense.

What you need to know about Moxley

When Moxley got his first DUI, it meant that he would need to shape up. It meant that he would have to pay a large sum of money, it meant he would need to learn the consequences of making decisions, and most importanlty learn that this type of behavior is reckless, irresponsible, dangerous, and behavior that cannot be repeated again. Recently, Moxley got another DUI, clearly he has not learned anything from his prior DUI, especially given that it has happened in such a short period of time after his first (which will not go over well with a judge). His first DUI, no one was hurt-thank God; his second DUI caused a 4 car accident, and someone was hurt, but not killed- thank God; I’m afraid of where this type of behavior could lead if proper action is not taken. The first step is to step down as Councilman, I understand that Moxley is wanting to finish out his term so he can get his full pension, but he was elected to serve as a councilman and fulfill all the duties that job would require, he cannot effectively do his job if he tied up in litigation. Furthermore, he will be forced to enroll in rehab (which is clearly needed), which again will interfere with his duties as councilman. Politics aside, Moxley needs help.

Mr. Charles Lollar

Last night I had the pleasure of hearing Mr. Charles Lollar speak at the Howard County Republican meeting. Charles is a fantastic speaker, but we all know that means nothing given our so-called “great speaker” we have as president. Lollar is more than a great speaker, he cares about our state and where it is heading; he cares about our nation and where it is heading; and he cares about our citizens and their futures. We need to remember that we live in a country that values hard work and perseverance, not mediocrity and laziness. We are heading in a dangerous direction, one in which we penalize hard work and diligence and reward those non-contributors to society. Obama has set forth a plan in which the “wealthy” will pay (through increased taxes) for a large chunk of the universal health care plan. A plan, I remind you that they do not need nor will they use. This sounds far to much like socialism and that is not what our country was founded on, nor is it where it was intended to go.

Pathological vs. compulsive liar

I certainly don’t want to look foolish and call Obama a liar without knowing exactly what I am a saying. Does he lie, that is the first question we need ask ourselves? After hearing this: “I want to be very clear,” Mr. Obama said in his weekly address to the nation. “I will not sign on to any health plan that adds to our deficits over the next decade. And by helping improve quality and efficiency, the reforms we make will help bring our deficits under control in the long term.” I can with great conviction say: Liar, Liar, pants on fire. but what kind of liar is he? A pathological liar is usually defined as someone who lies incessantly to get their way and does so with little concern for others, whereas a compulsive liar is defined as someone who lies out of habit. Lying is their normal and reflexive way of responding to questions. Compulsive liars bend the truth about everything, large and small. For a compulsive liar, telling the truth is very awkward and uncomfortable while lying feels right. Did anyone see the presidential address last night (weds night), is he both a pathological and compulsive liar? He certainly did not look uncomfortable or even hesitant to promote his trillion-dollar- deficit-increasing-healthcare plan. And when asked questions about any of the negative aspects of his proposed plan, he dodged them better than vince vaughn in dodgeball. I think we’ve learned a valuable lesson- this guy stinks- I guess that is not a lesson as much as it is a fact- but there you have it.

“unpredictability on steroids”

I was reading an article in the examiner when I came across this:

“When Americans voted for change, it was for a change from the uncertainty and economic unpredictability at the end of the Bush years,” says Alex Castellanos, the Republican message master who helped shape the RNC campaign. “But the president is giving them economic unpredictability on steroids. There is the clear sense out there that he is moving so fast on so many fronts that his health care plan cannot be well thought out.”

Why is he moving so fast to get this thing passed? The same reason a salesman rushes you to buy a Daewoo- because he doesn’t want you to test drive it because he knows the wheels will fall off and he doesn’t want you to look under the hood, because you’ll find the motor from a segway. What does Obama and a Daewoo salesman have in common? Both have something that will not work and will only cost you more money in the future. Both will pressure you like a putt to win the british open (and we all know how that turned out).

Freedom of Speech banned on the 4th of July

How many of you saw my signs at the catonsville and arbutus parade? None of you did, but do you know why? Because we were told there could be no political signs, that is unless you were an incumbant. Delagate Pat McDonough wrote something similar to a local newspaper about how political signs were snatched from little kids at the parade that he was in, but this obsurd that this is something that is happening state-wide and no one knows about it. Hmmm, I wonder why it so difficult to unseat an incumumbant- besides all the reasons we already know- let’s throw in this one: A candidate for public office cannot participate in the Catonsville parade, WHAT! I can’t even participate- isn’t this unconstitutional? So not only can I not have signs, I can’t even participate. Del McDonough is spot on when he says these areas are “free speech dead zones.” This is wrong and from what I gather, unconstitutional- lend your support in taking the steps necessary to bring back freedom of speech to our area.

quick note about universal healthcare

I was just reading about the expected costs of Medicare and how far off the projections were. The federal government projected that the hospital program (Medicare Part A) would grow to only $9 billion by 1990. It ended up costing more than 66 billion dollars. Can you imagine if the anticipated costs of universal healthcare ($1 trillion) is off by that much?

How can you argue with Boehner?

In regards to a government-run health care system, Boehner asked “when we can’t afford the public health plan we have already, does it makes sense to add more?” He is namely referring to the potential disappearance of Medicare by 2017. So I think he makes a good point then, shouldn’t we get our existing programs in order first, before we start spending more money on new programs and initiatives? The current administration is out of control, their spending and borrowing has gone beyond reckless!
